How to Measure Yourself for a Cock Ring
Do we really know what Beyonce was really singing about in her iconic tune “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)”? The famous line is “If you liked it then you should have put a ring on it” and everybody presumes that refers to a wedding ring. But are we really so sure? Maybe she’s singing an ode to a very different sort of ring.
Earring? Nose ring? Belly button ring? Nah, probably not any of those either. It has to be a cock ring!
However, just as you need to properly fit a wedding ring, so to do you have to properly fit a cock ring.
Why is it important to have a proper fitting cock ring?
Let’s just say, cock rings are one of those toys you do not want to get stuck on your body. The premise behind cock rings is that they restrict blood flow, trapping it in the penis. You’re not fully constricting the blood, but just enough that it will pool inside the erect penis. So, you need to pick a cock ring that is smaller than the diameter of the area you’re trying to restrict. If you pick one too big, it won’t constrict and if you pick one too tight you run the risk of not being able to remove it easily.
What type of cock ring do you want?
There are two basic types of cock rings. One version goes around the shaft of the penis, near the base and scrotum and the other goes back a little further, around the base of the penis and behind the scrotum. Each offer different exciting sensations and erotic potential.
Measuring shaft style
This type of cock ring is much easier to determine a proper size, but it can still be a bit tricky. The idea behind shaft cock rings is to put it on when you are almost hard, and then become fully erect once it is in place. It will then restrict the blood flow back out of the penis, potentially enlarging it and providing some orgasm control. You can find your desired diameter with a measuring tape, with your fingers and then measuring it, or even by using a piece of paper wrapped around your erection. Once you have that measure, find a cock ring about 0.6cm (0.25") - 1.2cm (0.5") smaller than your penis’ diameter.
Measuring behind the scrotum style
It is a bit harder to measure a cock ring of this type. Not only do you need to find a ring that feels snug at the base of the penis, but it also has to fit past both the penis and testicles. It is a true artform getting cock rings into the right position. So, for this fit, it is probably best to measure by encircling your penis and scrotum with your fingers. This will give you the most accurate measure. Again, once you have that measure, find a cock ring about 0.6cm (0.25") - 1.2cm (0.5") smaller than your penis’ diameter.
Fortunately, there are many types of cock rings, if this feels daunting. There will always be metal cock rings, but there are also stretchy silicone rings and leather rings that can be opened and sometimes perfectly fit in either style.
