Growing up in New York City and Tokyo and the daughter of Japanese immigrants, Asa describes her childhood as “perfectly normal.” Her teens were spent bouncing around high schools, but it just seemed as if she were biding her time. At nineteen she entered the sex industry by becoming a dominatrix and later a stripper. And then, while serving the role of “Show Whore” on the Bubba the Love Sponge radio show, she met legendary performer Gina Lynn - and a star was born.

Asa has dominated the porn world for the past decade, winning numerous awards and accolades. She has also become a beloved cultural figure with her work that doesn’t directly involve sex on film.
