Breaking A Sweat: Workout Orgasms

Many people consider their workout to be a key part of their day. Whether it is by choice or necessity, maintaining physical health can make a difference in many different aspects of your life. Obviously, there is the body aspect. Better physical fitness with improve how you feel, give you more stamina and increase your quality of life. Working out can also be extremely beneficial to your mental health. There is a distinct connection between your emotional well-being and your body’s well-being. The better you feel, the better you can handle stress, deal with people and increase your concentration and decision-making.

It is also pretty well-known that being physically fit will greatly benefit your sex life—because of how it affects the above two parts of your body. A fit body can have greater stamina for sexytimes. You are also likely to have better muscle tone and strength in key areas, such as your core and your pelvic floor—both of which will aid in better orgasms. As well, if you’re feeling better mentally, you’ll be more likely to want sex. And isn’t the the first key to getting the most out of your sex life?

Use those muscles!

But let’s go back to the idea of actually working out—the actual time you spend jogging, lifting weights, swimming or whatever makes you feel good. Did you know that some women can actually have an orgasm just from this activity alone?

This phenomena has affectionately come to be known as a coregasm. It is nothing new, but it hasn’t been widely discusses. In fact, Alfred Kinsey had reported instances of women achieving orgasm while being physically active all the way back in the day. He even pegged the number at 5% of women who could get off working out!

Almost certainly, this ability would have to come as a shock at first. It would have to be a complete surprise to be part way through a workout and feel the effect of an orgasm. This is not to say that women can’t get turned on where they pump iron, but this is something entirely different. Rather, a coregasm can happen as you work out and contract certain muscles. Core muscles in your midsection help, but really, the exercises that do the trick are the ones the force you to continually flex your pubococcygeus (PC) muscles. These are the ones that react, squeezing and tightening during sexual activity. So it only stands to reason that if you are contracting these muscles while exercising, it could lead to sexual sensation.

Potential for surprise orgasms?

It is hard to say whether most people will want to actually work toward having a coregasm. The potential to feel that level of pleasure in a public space is probably not high on everybody’s list. If it were so spontaneous that it took you by surprise, it might be embarrassing or even dangerous (if you’re holding free weights).

At the same time, if you find you have the ability to have coregasms and the ability to hide those reactions from everybody around that, well, you might just have hit a stealthy sex jackpot. For some folks, a coregasm at the gym would be quite a thrill.

Regardless of whether you do or don’t have fun with coregasms, it does show one thing—you’re getting in shape and all of your sex is going to get better!
